9th International Yoga Day Celebration

June 21st is celebrated as the International Day of Yoga worldwide. This year the theme of Yoga Day is Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam, yoga for the welfare of all One World-One Family. This idea was proposed by our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. He said, “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with you, the world and the nature.”

9th International Yoga Day was celebrated by the students and teachers at Darshan Academy, Rathonda, with great zeal and enthusiasm. Students, teachers and parents of DA-Rathonda and DV-Gulariya Bhat participated in demonstrating various Aasans with Surya Namashkar and Pranayams under our yoga teacher Mr. Shiv Kumar Saxena. All teachers of both schools were given training one day before under the supervision of Mr. Ramu Mourya Ji, a government representative teaching yoga on behalf of the Yoga Wellness Center under Aayush Mantralaya. Warm-up exercises were taken, and all the teachers, students and parents performed sitting and standing asanas. The importance of these was explained simultaneously by Mr. Shiv Saxena. The celebration concluded with a speech by Dr. Arindam Mohanta, Headmaster, DA- Rathonda. He encouraged students to practice regular yoga and meditation to remain fit and improve concentration. Regular yoga practice will help our students achieve a better physical, mental, and spiritual life.
